Stories of Hope
There are many reasons why people falter, and perhaps as many why they recover. Yet there is no denying that recovery can happen when hope is coupled with opportunity, and that the recovery of each individual or family benefits the entire community.
For more than thirty-five years, Homes with Hope has provided stability and opportunity to our community's individuals and families, who struggle with mental illness, substance abuse or domestic hardship, and as a result have temporarily lost their ability to lead independent and productive lives.
Homes with Hope, through a skilled professional staff and a broad network of compassionate community volunteers, has helped them regain their footing by providing housing, food, clothing, and other essentials, as well as referrals to medical assistance, job information, training and placement; all leading to greater self-esteem and independence.
“I just want to thank you thank you with all my heart. I sincerely appreciate everything you have done already for me and mine. You remind me to stay strong, you keep my faith that good people are still around. I don't know how my life would be if I didn't meet you. Grateful for all your long hours of hard work fighting for me when no one else would follow the laws in CT. Ensuring my safety and always doing what's best for my children. I want you to know I am so grateful for all you do for me and my family. You should be a training supervisor. 211 needs more women who care about the job. Thanks for treating me like a person. Also thank you for being extra compassionate.”
